    Pentecost- Beginning of Common Era.

    Jesus' disciples were able to speak many languages and traveled out to spread the word of Jesus after tongues of fire appeared on top of their heads. This event is an example of a mover and shaker because from then on, the word of Jesus was spread throughout the towns. If the disciples hadn't had the courage to go out and spread the word, Christianity wouldn't exist.

    St Paul/Saul.

    St Paul/Saul is an example of a mover and shaker because he chose to spread Christianity throughout other towns, unlike his first intentions of stopping Christianity from spreading.

    Emperor Nero.

    Emperor Nero is an example of a mover and shaker because he charged and tortured people who confessed to being Christians. He believed the Christian faith was "evil" and blamed anyone who was a follower of Christianity for something they hadn't done.

    Emperor Constantine.

    Constantine is an example of a mover and shaker because he made an edict with the eastern emperor, which gave Christians the authority to build new churches. He himself, also built many churches. This allowed for Christianity to spread throughout the roman empire and beyond.

    St Patrick.

    St Patrick is an example of a mover and shaker because he aimed to expand and broaden Christianity. His actions of preaching, educating, establishing churches, school and monasteries show his effort to expand the christian church and to make people chose to follow Christianity.

    St Columbanus.

    St Columbanus is an example of a mover and shaker because he established several monasteries, churches, taught a celtic rule and taught penitential practices. This led to the wealth of the church being vastly increased, as well as the power of the church and the size of the christian society.

    St Benedict.

    St Benedict is an example of a mover and shaker because he said to his followers to listen to how God was leading their lives. He motivated his followers to turn to God during difficult times.

    St Columba.

    St Columbanus was a mover and shaker due to his efforts to expand Christianity to many pagan people around the world.
  • Period: 590 to Nov 14, 640

    Gregory the Great.

    Gregory the Great is an example of a mover and shaker because he helped spread the word of Jesus. Because of his high position in hierarchy, people that were followers of Christianity were not afraid to express it.

    Charlemagne.

    Charlemagne is a mover and shaker because he seeked to unify all Germans into one kingdom, and enforce Christianity as the main faith.

    Crusades.

    The Crusades were an example of movers and shakers because and influence for the church grew. Wealth of monasteries and churches increased. Because some people chose to stay in the Holy Land, the people who were already lived there would be influenced by the Christians, and their way of life. Therefore, the Christian religion would expand across the middle east.

    Black Death

    The Black Death outbreak is an example of a mover and shaker because the church couldn't give an explanation to the plague, which caused people to turn away from the church. This weakened the church, as people began to question religion and even revolt against the church.

    Catherine of Siena.

    Catherine of Siena was a mover and shaker because of her selflessness and leadership. She offered her help to those in need, and encouraged others to see the good in serving the poor and ill. She was a leading spirit for the church, and a good example for others to look up to.

    Printing Press

    The Printing Press is an example of a mover and shaker because if Gutenberg's invention hadn't been carried through, news of Martin Luther's revolutionary propositions wouldn't have been able to spread quickly as they did.

    Reformation.

    The reformation is an example of a mover and shaker because the church was divided into three different identities. This weakened the church, and the authority over the two other identities.
