Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia
After the assassination of Ferdinand, Austria-Hungary was extremely mad. They blamed the death of Ferdinand on Serbia, and declared war. This caused many of the alliances not only Serbia but Austria-Hungary had to get involved. This event was one of the major causes of the war. -
Different countries get involved
After Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, the other countries that had alliances with these two got involved. These countries were Germany, Russia, and France. Russia was allied with Serbia and Germany was allied with Austria-Hungary and because of Germany, the French got involved as well. -
Russian Revolution
The Russian Revolution was a very important part of the war because political and social norms were completely flipped around in Russia. During this Russia abolished the monarchy, and establishment of the Soviet Union. -
USA joins
The US joined due to alliances with France, Britain, and Russia. When the US joined, many Americans weren’t happy about this. This was because they wanted to remain neutral with all countries. But this didn’t stop them from joining in. -
Russia surrenders
Russia surrendered due to the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk. This was signed because of the new Bolshevik government of Russia and the Central Powers. -
Germany collapsed
When Germany joined the war, they weren’t really thinking about the future. They were more in the moment and later on, they didn’t have the proper Utilities for the war. This then led to them collapsing. -
Treaty of Versailles
The treaty of Versailles was the most important treaty of them all during this time period. This treaty was what ended WWI. The treaty originally ended war with Germany and the countries allied.
