    John Peter Zenger trial of 1733 By: Roman Mumford and Makena Tucci
    In Philadelpia April, 16, 1733 John Peter Zenger he was accused of printing papers that talked against the royal government, and was accused of libel. John Peter Zenger was a german immagrant, and he worked as a printer in Philadelphia. When the trial began the most famous lawyer in the colonies, ANDREW HAMILTON of Philadelphia, stepped up to defend Zenger. Hamilton admitted that Zenger printed the charges and demanded the prosecution to prove them false. In the end John Peter Zenger was freed.

The colinist that lived West from the colonies had to leave their land so the British could send trops to put up walls around the land. The royal British govement came to the end of the French and Indain war that made a conflict with French and their native allies.

    The Sugar Act began on April 5, 1764, this event was in the 13 Colonies. This conflict was caused by the British, since they put tax on molasses and sugar. During the Sugar Act, the British also put taxes on sugar, tea, and paper goods. These were all called intolerable acts by most of the colonies. Basically, they were forced to pay the unfair taxes.The colonies had no say in the taxes which is called taxation without representation. The Sugar act ended in 1766.

The British try to stop the meetings. British government wanted consolidate fiscal and political power over the colonist in their goods by taxing.

The taxes angered the colonists, and as revenge, a small group of men set fire to the Gaspee. The Gaspee Affair was an important event of disloyalty leading up to the American Revolution.
