Beginning of the Mormon Church
The Mormon Church was restored by Joseph Smith after the apostasy, where the church was no longer on Earth. He claimed that God chose him to restore the true church. -
Book of Mormon
The Book of Mormon, one of the religious books for mormons, was translated in 1829. On the 26th of March, the first printed copies of the Book of Mormon became available in Palmyra, New York. -
First Mission
This was the first mission to travel outside of the United States and Canada. Heber C. Kimball and six others went to Liverpool, England in attempt to convert people there. -
Name of the Church
The official name of the church is established. The name of the church would come to be The Church of the Latter-day Saints. -
Baptism for the Dead
In Nauvoo, Illinois, Joseph Smith announces the doctrine of baptism for the dead. This doctrine allows a living person to get baptised for a deceased person. -
