Once they invaded Northern China they moved west across Central Asia. The mongols were nomadic people so they would move quickly, look for weak spots, attacked, and moved on. tHey succeeded in many wars because of this. -

He dies during a campain against the Chinese kingdom of Xi Xia. Khan was over 60 and failing in health may have had injuries from falling off a horse in the previous year. -

Kublai is Genghis's grandson. He took power of the Chinese part of the empire. Southern China is still under Song control at this time. -
