    Benito Mussolini started the Fascist Party in Italy. He was expelled from the Socialist party in 1915 and returned home from war after injury which is when he started the party. Facism is defined as 'an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization'. Fascism came to visibility in early 20th-century Europe, influenced by national syndicalism. Fascism originated in Italy during WWI and eventually spread to other European countries.

    De Stijl was a Dutch artistic movement founded in 1917 in Amsterdam. he term De Stijl is used to refer to a body of work from 1917 to 1931 founded in the Netherlands De Stijl advocated pure abstraction and perfection by a reducing form and colour. They simplified art to using only vertical and horizontal directions, and used only primary colours and black and white.

    Constructivism was a movement/style which began in Russia in 1919 in which assorted mechanical objects are combined into abstract mobile structural forms. The movement has influenced many aspects of modern architecture and design today.
