Cortez conquers the Aztecs
The conquest of the Aztecs wasn't taken by Cortez himself, it was planned by the Cuban governor Diego Velásquez. His success wasn't the more successful because he disobeyed Velásquez's orders to explore the lands, so there was a chase out to arrest Cortez. In the end, the Aztecs chased the Spanish out of their territory but a year later Cortez conquered every part of the Aztec empire except Tenochtitlan. -

French Revolution beigns
It happened because of the peasants displeasure with the way the government and the king worked. The king was seen as ineffective and indecisive. The root cause was the huge French National debt that Louis XVI had inherited and the cost of such things as the French support for the American Revolution which was accompanied by high taxation and an unfair tax code. A popular uprising then took place called the Storming of the Bastille. -
Flight to Varennes
Was a significant episode in the French Revolution during which King Louis XVI of France, his wife Marie Antoinette, and their immediate family attempted unsuccessfully to escape from Paris in order to initiate a counter-revolution. Their destination was the fortress at Montmédy in northeastern France, a Royalist stronghold from which the king hoped to start a military campaign which would restore his rule. They were only able to make it as far as the small town of Varennes. -
