Divided slave states and not slave states. Main becomes a free state and Miissouri becomes slave state. Split the louisiana pershas in to 30 36. North not slaves south slave. This caused more of a divition in the country. -

California became a state. 15 slave states 15 non slave states.Fights fudgitive slave act. Bands slave trate in washinton D.C. Settled Barder dispute between Texas and New Mexico. Creates Utah and NEw Mexico with popular sovereighty. This maid it even. But still helped cause the war because it was changed and un even. -
Uncle Toms Cabin
This book effected the War. It read that similar things happeds in this book then in the bible so alot of people realated the situation with slavery to Jesus, When he was being tortured. They also see that slaves are treated very bad. This caused alot of debait of showing slavery like this. So it contributed to the war in a big way because of peoples thoughts on slavery and showing ths book. -

Split the nebrasca and kansas territory to fallow the rules of the missory. Nebraska when to add it's self as a states but cause alot of debait.Became a big place for people to go and vote. Then it named Kansas as a nickname "beeding Kansas" -

Congress debate for Dred scott
Have the right band slaverary past the 36 30 line. Dred scot whent to cort to be freed because his contract was up and he had been free for a while.So they said because ne was black be couldn't evemn testify. This contributed to the war by adding more tention to pro slavery and no slavery debates. -
John Brown Raid on Harpers
John Brown was caught in a fire house to arest him. They hung him for asolting a man. The North acted as he was a man to look up to, a man that died for a cause. The South saw him as a man that whent agents what they beilieved and wanted him to be killed and forgot about, or onbly rememberd about as a person who whent agenst the law and was ment to pay the altimit due. -
Election of 1860
The Conflict in the country was at it's hight.The canadates were Abraham Lincon, Stephen Douglas, JohnBreckidge, and John Bell. The main people in the election were Stephen Douglas and Abraham Lincon. Abriham won, after a large amount of debates.This event was signifigent because , they didn't know, but the Presedent they elected had to deal with the War, so there choice could have prevented the war from going the way it did, if Douglas was chose. -
South Carolina secession
Dec. 20 1860 South Carolina secceded from the United states. They basicly left the government, and didn't want to be apart of the government anymore and said they wanted to make there own laws. -
Fort Sumpter Atack
Abraham Lincon chose to leave the fort how it was and only send in suplies for the soldiors that were only in there. They were atacked early in the morning, about 4 in the morning. They attacked with mass weponry and the Americans give up after realising the chances thay had, and serender and no blood was shed. This stated the war.
