    Balfour Declaration
    This was a letter from the United Kingdom's Foreign Secretary, Arthur James Balfour, to Baron Rothschild whom was the leader of the British Jewish community. This letter was written for transmission to the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland. This letter was later put into the Sevres Peace treaty with Turkey and the Mandate for Palestine.

    This was decided in the Unilateral Declaration of Egyptian Independence by the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Originally, th ebritish were protectorate over Egypt.     The Saudi-Yemeni war was a war between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. This war began when the new Saudi kingdom began to grow at the expense of of Yemini-owned areas (which can also be known as the Greater Yemen). The official ending date of this war is May 20th, 1934. On this day the Treaty of Taif was signed. The amount of of people killed in this war totaled to be about 2,100. (Consisting of soldiers and civilians)

    Egypt monarchy overthrown
    This even began with a military coup d'état (a sudden illegal deposition in government.) by the Free Officers Movement. This was a group of army officers that were led by Muhammid Naquib and Gamal Abdel Nasser. This event was in the beginning aimed at overthrowing their King Farouk. Then the movement started to have more political ambitions focused on abolishing the monarchy and to later establish a republic, end the British occupance of the country, and secure the independence of Sudan.

    Six-Day War

    This war was fought between Israel and the neighboring states of Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. It begun with a surprise attack on Egyptian air-fields from Israel. The war ended after six days with Israel winning, haven taken control of the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan and the Golan Heights from Syria.

    Yom Kippur War

    This war is also known as the 1973 Arab-Israeli War. This was fought between Israel and a coalition of Arab states that were led by Egypst and Syria. This war started on a surprise attack on Israel on Yom Kippur (holiest day in Judaism) which also occured during the Muslim holiday month Ramadan. In result the Israeli had a tactical victory, and both Egypt and Israel had political and strategic gains.

    Lebanese Civil War

    This was a many-sided civil war in Lebanon which lasted 15 years and 6 months. In result they made a Taif Agreement, had a PLO expulsion from Lebanon, became mostly Syrian, and mainly Israeli in South Lebanon. About more than 120,000 people were killed, about a million wounded with around hafl of them suffering with a life injury, and today there are still about 76,000 people displaced in Lebanon.

    Saddam Hyssein was the fifth president of Iraq and was president from July 16, 1979 to April 9th, 2003. He was executed on December 30, 2006 (the first day of Eid ul-Adha) and was hung despite wanted to be shot.

    The Gulf War

    The Gulf War was a war waged by a UN-authorized coalition force from 34 nations that were led by the United States against Iraq. This was done in response to Iraw's invasion and annexation in Kuwait which begun on August 2nd, 1990. In result, Iraq withdrew from Kuwai, there were heavy casualities and destruction of Iraqi and Kuwaiti infrastructure. In total about 20,000-35,000 people were killed.

    Invasion of Iraq
    This was the start of the current Iraq War. A combination of troops from the united States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Poland invaded Iraq and toppled the government of Saddam Hussien in a total of 21 days in combat operations. It began with 4 country's troops in the first invasion but 36 more were involved in the aftermath. The United States supplied most of the troops. In result, Ba'athist Iraqi government deposed, occupation of Iraq, and a new Iraqi government was established.
