Norman conquest of England
The Ruler of England, Edward the Confessor, was on his deathbed. There was no other person in his family, who could sit on the throne, because he had no children. After he died, Harold Godwinson, the daughter was married with Edward, had to decide who will be the next king. First Crusade begins
After the Normans had settled in France, the two countries (England, France) began to think about the recreating of the Roman Empire. So they would like to free Jerusalem from the Muslim Turks. Second Crusade begins
After the Muslim Turks conquered the Syrian city of Edessa, the people in Europe were really upset. The pope ordered Bernard of Clairvaux to start a second Crusade. Third Crusade begins
In 1174 a strong Kurdish general named Salah al-din conquered Egypt and a few years later (1189) he conquered Jerusalem. The Model Parliament, which was founded in 1295, was England’s first legally elected legislature. There were 292 members of the Commons, 219 of which representing the towns, 49 Lords. The Hundred Years War
The Hundred Years War started in the year 1337 and ended in 1453. The Hundred Years War is known as a series of wars between England and France, because after the king Charles VII died, Edward, the sons of the sister of Charles thought, that he will be king, but the cousin of Charles, Phillip should be krwon. Begin Bubonic Plague (Black Death)
The bubonic plague, or also the Black Death, was one of the deadliest pandemics in the hum history. It spread out from the rats in the canalization, after it came to Europe with Ships from Merchants. There were a lot of consequences: 30% of the population died, the economie broke down and a lot of other consequences.
