    French and American representatives sign treaties acknowledging the alliance between the two countries.France had fought with Britain and lost American colonies and therefore saw it as a way to go against Britain in the American Revolution.

    The Estates General is elected by the people. The first estate consisted of the clergy, the second estae consisted of nobility, and the third estate consisted of all other people in society. This meeting occured in 1789 for the first time in 175 years.

    Robespierre was placed under arrest by the National Assembly and executed by the guillotine the next day along with many followers. He was accused of the terror brought upon people and his execution began to bring terror to an end.
