Jack and his gang attempt to beat up Michael, but he uses his electric powers and shocks all three of them. Taylor, a popular cheerleader, witnesses this event.

Taylor confronts Michael and asks him if he would like to come over to house and talk.

At Taylor´s house, Michael learns that Taylor also has special abilities and the two become friends.

Michael, his best friend Ostin, and Taylor form a group called the Electroclan. This is formed so they can figure out why Taylor and Michael have their powers. Their research leads them to some disturbing discoveries.

The Electroclan discovers that a multi-billion dollar company called Elgen Inc. is responsible for Taylor and Michael´s abilities. They also conclude that 17 other children have electric-based powers.

Suddenly, Taylor turns up missing after she visited the Elgen´s website on the internet.

The very next day, Michael and his mother see a man with sunglasses on. Suddenly Michael passes out and he last remembers hearing his mother screaming.

Michael wakes up in the hospital, and he learns that his mother has also been kidnapped. He makes a plan to find her and rescue her.

After talking to the police, Michael and Ostin ask Jack Vranes for a ride to Pasadena, California. They believe that the Elgen Headquarter are located there and that is where his mother is being held.

Jack agrees to help them, bringing Wade along with them. They arrive in Pasadena and discover the Elgen Headquarters is a fortress.

After devising a plan and breaking into the Elgen Headquarters; Michael, Ostin, Jack, and Wade attempt to rescue their friends. However, the Elgen soon learn of their arrival and capture them.

Michael is put into Cell 25, a special cell meant to drain the power out of electric children. He discovers that the man in the sunglasses is called Dr. Hatch. Hatch is a bad man who is partly responsible for and is now in charge of the electric children.

Jack and Wade become GPs, which stands for human guinea pigs. MIchael and Taylor face death by electrocution by one of the 17 electric children.Due to their arrogance and resistance to Hatch´s invitation to join the Elgen, he decides they are useless.

Michael and Taylor begin a conversation with Zues, the electric youth who was assigned to kill them. They convince him to set them free and help begin a revolution. They soon reunite with their friends and meet new electric children.

Ian, Mckenna, and Abigail agree to help the Electroclan break out of the Elgen Headquarters. A long battle is fought, and eventually Hatch and his remaining electric youth are forced to flee. The Electroclan, now with 9 members, defeated the Elgen.

After defeating the Elgen, the Electroclan discovers that Hatch left a youth behind. Her name is Grace and her ability is she can download computer data and store it within her brain. She can also deposit the information into a computer.

Grace agrees to join the Electroclan. She downloads all of the Elgen mainframe, where Michael makes a shocking discovery. His mother is being held in another Elgen fortress near Puerto Maldonado, Peru.

Michael plans to travel to Peru and rescue his mother. He does not know exactly how he will do that, but the Electroclan will follow him to the ends of the earth. They make a plan to fly to Peru and rescue Michael´s mother.
