Linguistics Theory
Chomsky’s linguistics theory states that the structure of language is formed biologically inside the human mind. This structure is based off of important language principles and gets transmitted from human to human genetically. It is also theorized by Chomsky that this genetically transmitted language is relatively the same for all people. -
Language's Expressive Power
Noam Chomsky has also studied specific properties of different languages to figure out their capabilities for expression. This form of study is called Chomsky’s hierarchy and rates languages’ grammar based on their expressive power. Through his work in linguistics, he has unveiled the amount of diversity that can come out of language as well as explaining how unique language really is. -
Noam Chomsky Bio
Noam Chomsky is a noted philosopher who is involved in a range of different subjects pertaining to analytical philosophy. He is also a logician, linguist, cognitive scientist, activist, and political commentator. Chomsky has obtained bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in linguistics and has been involved in organizations at Harvard University. He currently teaches at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. -
Noam Chomsky - Fields of Study
Noam Chomsky has developed theories covering a multitude of different topics. Examples include but are not limited to psychology, political science, artificial intelligence, and programming. Most of his work has been in the field of linguistics. He formulated a theory for linguistics based on how the structure of language is formed biologically.
