Mexico 10 days later declared war on the United States, but no states helped the government fight back, causing the Americans to take control. -
Battle of Chapultepec
This was the most memorable battle that occurred in this war between September 12 and 13, 1847, it triggered an imminent Mexican defeat in the war. As a curious fact, of the "hero children" who fought and died for the country, there is no evidence of their existence. -
Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
After the battle of Chapultepec and the numerous battles in which Mexico lost, Santa Anna resigned from the presidency and after this fact, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed on February 2, 1848, where it was established that Mexico should cede more half of its territory to the United States in exchange for 15 million pesos for war expenses.
