    Marques de Rubi retiers
    Marques was born in Barcalona around 1725. He Moved to New spain and on August 7, 1765 became a Presidio inspector. Afer Inspecting the frontier lines, he recomended that Spain organize ther frontier.
  • Philip Nolan was arrested

    Philip Nolan was arrested
    In 1790 Philip Nolan went on an expedition to captrue wild horses. In 1800 he was arrested for "suspitios behavior" but was released and allowed another expedition. In this one Nolan was killed and the remaining men rolled dice to see who would be executed. Ephraim Blackburn was the unlucky man, the rest would serve 10 years of hard laybor, eccept Peter Elis Bean who talked his way out of jail.

    Father Hidalgo ordered the arest of native spainards
    On September 16, 1810 Fater Hidalgo ordered the arest of the native spainards, after that he rang the church bell and called the Indians and Meztitos to Mass to prapose a revolt. He said they should be Mexicans instead of Spainards. He was captured, deprated from priest hood, and was shot and killed on July 31 or August 1, 1811

    Agustus Magee co-led the Magee-Gutierrez Expedition
    After Quiting the army afterbeing denied a promotion, Agustus Magee began to gather men for an expedition. He and his men entered Nacagdoches on August 12. There he met up with Jose Gutirrez de Lara.

    Jose Gutierrez de Lara became co-leader of the Gutierrez-Magee expedition
    After the rebles sent him to America, Jose became well known in Washington. After gaining their trust he brought men to New Spain (Mexico, Texas whatever). WHile travling through Nacagdoches he met up with Agustus Magee and they started the Gutierrez-Magee Expedition.
  • The Battle of Medina

    The Battle of Medina
    The battle was fought between the men of the Gutierrez-Magee Expedition and and a spainish royalist army. This was the bloodiest battle to ever take place on Texas soil and took place 20 miles south of San Antonio in a forest. After a four battle the royalist army won with only a loss of 55 men.
  • Jean Lafitte controlled Galveztown

    Jean Lafitte controlled Galveztown
    In May 1817 Jean Lafitte moved to Galvestown. in 1819 he claimed the land and renamed it Galveston Island and Campeche. in 1935 a hurricane merged the two islands and he started capturing spainish ships to gain treasure and populace.
  • Dr. James Long led the Long Expedition

    Dr. James Long led the Long Expedition
    After retiring from being a surgen in the war of 1812, Dr. James Long moved to Louisianna. He then felt the need to lead the Long Expedition. while on the expedition he was shot and killed on april 8, 1822.
  • The Constitution of 1824 was signed

    The Constitution of 1824 was signed
    This constatution was modeled after the Declaration of Independence but mostly modled the Constitution of 1812. They took years to come to an agreement. Stephen F. Austin himself conversed with spainish leaders to confirm they were O.K. with it.
  • State Colonization Law of 1825

    State Colonization Law of 1825
    The Mexican Government adopted a similar government to the U.S. after Iturbide fell. This law was passed soon after the Coahulia and Texas Constitution. It was the basis for all colinization laws.

    Merger of Coahuila y Texas
    After the imigration law Texas and Coahulia merged. Also it let Americans imigate into Texas. But Mexicans got first pick on the land. Also for a nominal price you could get 4428.4 acres.

    After the Constitution of 1824 the Republic of Mexico thought that every state wold need a constitution. This one was for both Coahuila and Texas. This also made slaves illeagle in Texas.
