Ur-nammu was the founder of of the 3rd dynasty of Ur in sumer. He is known for the code of Ur-nammu. It is was the first complete law code in the world. Ur-nammu is credited with building the great ziggurat of Ur. He also helped get rid of the Gutians. -

The akkadian emprie ruled a vast expanse of mesopotamia. Akkad was a city located along the western bank of the euphrates river. sargon the great was king during part of this period.
