    Reconquista

    The Reconquista was the name for various battles between the Christian Kingdom and the Muslim Moors to gain control of Iberia Peninsula. The Moors invaded the Iberian Peninsula, and over seven years they controlled most of the Iberian Peninsula.

    Norman Invasion

    William was the first king of Norman after beating King Harold in the Battle of Hastings. He built castles to show that he was the boss, and some of them are still standing today.

    Battle of Hastings
    The Battle of Hastings happened in 1066 when William wanted the throne, and tried to take it by declaring war on King Harold II. King Harold's army was tired, and unprepared because they had just captured the bridge at Stamford. King Harold II was defeated which gave William the throne. King Harold II was the last Anglo-Saxon ruler of England.

    When King John I had the throne people claimed the laws that he made were unfair. As a result, barons and church officials rebelled against King John. They came up with rules that took away power from the king, but gave more power and rights to noblemen, barons, and church officials.

    Beginning of the Bubonic Plague

    When 12 Genoese trading ships made it to Europe after a long expedition of traveling over the black sea. When people went to greet the people in the ships they realized the mostly everybody was dead, and the few that were alive were extremely sick. They were covered in black spots that blood streamed out of. Over 5 years the "Black Death" had killed over 20 million people.

    Spanish Inquisition

    Made to discover and punish converted Jews. Ferdinand and Isabella decided on Catholicism to unite Spain. The Spanish Inquisition was made to push all of the other religion away from Spain.
