Cardiff Castle
The first fort of Cardiff Castle was built by the Roamns in AD 55 for defense. The entire castle was built (possibly) by William the Conqueror, St. Davids, or Robert Fitzhamon, in the late 10th century. It was an air raid shelter for WWII. Ludlow Castle
The Ludlow Castle was supposedly founded by Walter de Lacy and it's date of origin is possibly 1138, but is not certain. The possesion of the Ludlow castle was descended from the Lacy family. in 1115, Hugh de Lacy dies, with no children, and it was taken over by the king. Neath Castle
The Neath Castle has no official date of origin, but was supposedly built in the early 12th century. It was a minor, Norman castle, under the lordship of Glamorgan. Stokesay Castle
There is no exact year of when the Stokesay Castle was built, but it is said that it was built in the late 13th century. The Lacy's held the area from the Norman Conquest until 1241. Beaumaris Castle
The Beaumaris castle was the last and longest castle that King Edward I assigned to be built in Llanfaes. The castle was supposed to be built with an almost geometric symmetry.
