possibly built b hubert de burgh in monmouthshire, south wales. After changing hands many times, it was granted by Henry 3 to his 2nd son and has since declined in importance.

hay on wye motte

Rhuddlan castle
In Denbighshire, Northeast Wales by Edward 1. It's location made it a key point in the racial struggles between the Welsh and English. It was planned as a concentric castle. In the late 11th century, when the Normans invaded Gwynedd, it was fought over by the Princes of gwynedd and the Earls of Chester.

This was the last and largest of Castles to be built by King Edward 1in Beaumaris, Anglesey, Norht Wales. It is possibly one of the sophisticated examples of medieval Military architechture in Britain. It saw little action, except for the 17th century civil war.
