Purpose-Directed the trade between England and the colonies
Outcome-The taxes went up, and was starting to cost more money so they started smuggling. -
Proclamation
Purpose- They set up new settlement
Outcome- The proclamtion also prohibited or prevented colonists from moving west of the applanchian mountains. -
Sugar Act
purpose-This act of laws lowered the tax on imported molasses
Outcome- They believed these British actions violated or intrfered with their right as English citizens. -
Stamp Act
Purpose- This law placed a tax on almost all printed materail including newspaper, wills, and playing cards
Outcome-All printed material had to have a stamp british officails applied the stamp after the tax was paid -
Declaratory Act
Purpose- Parliament passed the declaratory act
Outcome- Stated that parliament had the right to tax and make decisions for the british colonies in all cases -
Townshend Acts
Purpose- Only apply only to imported goods such as glass, tea, and paper with the tax being paid at the part of entry
Outcome- They believed that only their own representatives had the right to tax them -
Tea Act
Purpose- Allowed the company a virticual monoply or sole control of the trade for tea in america
Outcome- Act let the company sell tea directly to shokeepers and bypass colonial merchants who normally distructed the tea. -
Quebec Act
Purpose- Quebec is around the area west of the applachian moutains and north ohio river
Outcome- Ignored colonial claims to the area. -
Coercive Acts
Purpose- These harsh law were intened to punish the people of massachusetts for their resistance to brittish law
Outcome- These rights included No questering of the troopos inprovate homes and know standing army in peacetime.
