    Andrew McCain was a Canadian potato farmer in the early 1900's. he saw an opportunity to expand beyond farming and selling potatoes locally.
    In 1909 he created 'McCain Produce' a potato seed export company.

    Andrew McCain's sons, Wallace and Harrison founded McCain foods. They opened the first production facility in their hometown of Florenceville, New Brunswick, Canada.

    McCain foods quickly established itself within the Canadian marketplace and then they began a journey to become the worlds largest manufacturer of frozen French fries and potato specialties.

    They started buying potato farms and building production facilities. A small potato processing plant was built in Daylesford to manufacture frozen fries.

    they purchased the Copper Kettle vegetable processing plant in Smithton, Tasmania. they expanded their products from fries and pizza and also included farm-fresh vegetables.

    McCain foods limited is a privately owned company. they produce French fries, appetizers, pizzas, vegetables, desserts and prepared meals.
    they now have more that 21,000 employees and 52 production facilities.
