The Mayans created a 365-day calendar by watching the stars all day. They used math the get their dates and were the first people to use the number zero. They developed glyph writing using symbols that stood for words, which helped them show dates on the calendar. -

Teotihuacan is founded
Teotihuacan is founded and for centuries, it is the cultural religious and trading center of Mesoamerica. There were massive monumental structures in Teotihuacan that were important to the culture of the Mayans. -

Mayan Civilization Declines
In 751 A.D., trade between Mayan city-states started to come to an end. Construction was starting to end in the Mayan capital, Tikal. In 899 A.D., Tikal is abandoned. Finally, in 900 A.D., the Classic Period of Maya history ends.
