    King Louis XVI tried to flea Paris by going to Austria. He left because they were making him give away his power to the people, he thought that Austria would put him back on the throne. The King and Queen were involved in this get away and were caught close to the border of France. This was significant because it later lead to Louis being beheaded.

    The guillotine is a large machine that drops a blade on the person and instantly ends their lives. It was introduced as a more humane way of beheading people than he axe. The guillotine was created by Dr. Joseph-Ignace Guillotin. It was significant because the French had a new death weapon and more sufficient way of killing. They ended the lives of King Louis and Robespierre and many others.

    Jean-Paul Marat and Charlotte Corday were involved. Marat was a strong voice to the people by writing in his newspaper, he was always calling for blood and heads. He got out of control and Charlotte Corday out an end to his terror. This was significant because if there was a problem Marat called for heads and deaths, if there was still a problem, more deaths. He got out of control and Corday killed him. After his death people saw Marat as a god or religious figure.

    Napoleon Bonaparte was elected emperor because the people voted for him in an elected government. Napoleon was involved as well as the people because they voted for him. This was significant because he made drastic changes in the country. He gave them religious tolerance and property. He allowed them to work with their talents and gave them food.

    Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled to Elba when he returned to France from war. It happened because he went to Russia with 600,000 men and returned with only 20,000. That was only his first loss in war. Napoleon was involved because he was the one being exiled. This is significant because he had lost 580,000 people in this battle. However, he later came back to France after being exiled and they were very happy he returned. After the exile, France had changed back to a monarchy.
