Richieu is killed by his aunt, to avoid the gas chambers of Auschwitz.

During an escape to Hungary, Vladek and Anja are caught by the nazis and sent to Auschwitz.

Vladek is moved to Birkenau where Anja is located, and manage to obtain some contact with his wife.

Vladek is relocated to a displaced persons's camp in Garmisch Partenkirchen and is diagnosed with Typhus and Diabetes

Everyone was evacuated by the Nazis and forced to march (death march) to Gross-Rosen in Germany.

The ones remaining after the march were then transferred to Dachau and later liberated and relocated in Switzerland.

WW2 ends and Vladek along with others are found by a group of Americans.

Vladek travels back to Sosnowiec, Poland to reunite with his dear wife, Anja.
