    Born in Eisleben, Germany. His parents were Hans Luder, a miner, and Margarethe. Martin was bapized as a cathlic the next morning.

    went to school in mansfeld but then started going to a Latin school. There they tought about the ten commandments,"Child's belief", the Lord's prayer, and the Latin grammar of Donatus. Which He learned very quickly

    Martin Luther posted the 95 theses on the door of the castle church in Wittenberg. and began the reformation of the church

    Andreas Von Carlstadt and Martin Luther debated with John Eck. During the debate Eck forced Luther to admit that he agreed with hus, who was a heretic. (but this only strengthen Luthers resolve.)

    Emperor Karl V called for the discussion to allow Cardinal Aleander (1480-1542) who was the Pope's ambassador, to examine Luther to see if he was a heretic. They decided that he was and he was banned from the Holy Empire.

    The Edicts of Worms
    The Edict of Worms was signed by Emperor Charles V that said Martin Luther a heretic and placed him under an imperial ban. And that all Luther's books were to be burned. but Prince Fredrick the Wise of Saxony disobeyed the emperpor and he helped Luther and his followers by sheltering them in one of his castles. During that time Luther translated the New Testament into German

    Some people began to apply Luther's revolutinary ideas to society.German peasants' got over excited about the the reform and demanded an end to serfdom. So they went out and started burning monasteries. Luther didnt like the revolt and told the German princes to show no mercy so there armies crashed the revolt killing almost 100,00 people. People started to feel betrayed by luther and rejected his ideas
