The talk
My job in Italy was giving me less an less pay, I was in my bread shop and i over heard a customer talking about the Oklahoma land rush. When my work was over i ran as fast as i could to my parents. I told them every thing that i heard, but i still needed to save up two more lira's to leave. This would take two more years -
Off to America
I have finally saved up my 10 lira's that i needed to board the ferry, but i brought an extra three lira's for when i get there. as i boarded the ferry i wavied goodgye to all my friends and family that i was leaving behind to take part in the Oklahoma land rush. -
Arriving at Ellis Island
As I got off the boat and stepped on to Ellis Island i felt like i was a changed person. I walked into the big building, there were lots of people shouting and arguing againset the immigration administrators.I was headed to the sleeping quarters to get a goods night rest for tommorow when i go through all the tests to try to pass on to America. -
Getting past
I walked to the last task i had to do before i could go to America, this was to answer questions about my past, The last question was if i had any criminal record in Italy, i said "no". The person that was questioning me said "your free to go." As i picked my bags from the hardwood floor, i mumbled to myself " I did it." -
Hearing about the west again
As i was heading to the sweatshop that i worked at, i heard two gentlemen talking about the west, this sparked an Idea that i could be a logger over there. The problem was i need 50 more cents to get a train ride to Oklahoma. -
Moving west
I finally saved up the three dollars i need to hop on a train to Oklahoma. As I got on the train the beds were like bunk beds, there were only 1 bathrooms on the whole train! -

When i arrived in Oklahoma i was amazed, there were so many people and horses. As i got of the train i new i had to get a horse for the Oklahoma land rush. I bought the cheapest horse i could find. -
The day of The Oklahoma Land Rush
I have been waiting for this day my whole life, i have good a good job as a local logger which gives very good pay, my horse is well trained now, "BOOM" the gun shot went off, my horse and i were going as fast as we could because there were very little spots on the near by river that we could claim. As i put my land flag into the very peace of land i wanted i felt like coming to America was all worth it in the end. -
My experience
As I finished building my house on the river I felt that I made the right decision on coming to America, I was now the offical owner of Balloteli Lumber co. Everything was going right for me in America. -
