    On June 15, 1762 Austria used it's first paper currency. When the paper currency was first created, it was not tied to the coinage standard yet. The notes were worth more in the beginning, but in later years they fell in relative values with the coins.

    On Februrary 11, 1766 the Stamp Act was declared unconstitutional in Virginia. The Stamp Act said that any printed legal document had to have tax placed on it. This act angered the colonists and they took matters into their own hands. They resisted the act, especially by mobbing.

    This event was important because ultimately it helped lead to America's Independence.

    The first edition of "Ecnyclopedia Britannica" was created
    On December 6, 1768 the first edition of "Encyclopedia Britannica" was created in Scotland. Although this work could not compete with Universal Lexicon or Ecnyclopedie, it competed with other dictionaries of arts and sciences.
    This event is important becasue it set the basis for all of the volumes to follow. There are 32 volumes of Encyclopedia Britannica today.

    The royal wedding, joining 14 year old Marie Antoinette, Austrian archduchess and Louis-Auguste (Louis XVI) took place on March 16, 1770.This wedding was arranged in an effort to unite Austira and France, and since it was arranged, they had only met 2 days prior.

    In 1774 Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI became king and queen. The king of France, Louis XV died in 1774. This left the throne to his son, Louis XVI, and his wife, Marie Antoinette. When Louis XV died, Marie was only 19, leaving her to become the Queen of France at only age 19.
    This event is imporant to Marie Antoinette's life because this was the day that she became Queen of France. Ultimately, her and Louis would eventually beign the Reign of Terror in France.

    On December 9, 1778 Marie Antoinette's first was born. After 12 hours of labor, her daughter, Marie Therese was born. It was not until hours later that she was informed the gender of her child. Although a son was desired, Maie was happy with a girl because the girl was hers whereas a boy would be the state's.
    This event was important because Marie Therese was the only survivor of her whole family. Her parents and all of her siblings died, yet she lived until age 72.

    Louis XVI was executed on January 20, 1793. Marie Antoinette's husband died just months before she, herself was executed. Louis was tried and executed for treason in January. He was killed by the guillotine, and was dragged there before being killed.
    This event was signifiicant because Louis XVI was excecuted before everyone else in the reign of Terror. Eventually Marie Antoinette would also be executed.

    The Reign of Terror began on September 5,1793. The Reign of Terror was a period of time when many people were executed if they were suspected of being an enemy of the Revolution. Throught the Reeign of Terror, 300,000 suspects were arrested, 17,000 were executed and about 10,000 died in prision without any trial.
    This event is important because this led to the death of Marie Antoinette.
