    Andrew Jackson (Native American Removal)
    Army general, Andrew Jackson was trying to take the Indians land that's stands within the state and trade it with the land no one owned west of Mississippi. Many of the tribes had to be forced to move out west, although some did go without hassle. In later years this lead into what we call the Trail of Tears.   • Brigham Young (Reaction to the Mormons)

    Brigham Young (Reaction to the Mormons)
    Brigham Young was born on June 1 of 1801, he also wanted to start his career as a painter and a carpenter. He was child nine out of eleven children total. Brigham Young was picked to become the leader of the Mormons and later became president until his death, his death which occurred on August 29, of 1877.     The Alamo
    The Battle of the Alamo took place in San Antonio, Texas between the Texans and the Mexicans. The Alamo started in February 23, 1836 and ended in March 26, 1836. Two of the generals involved in the Alamo were William Travis and James Bowie. The overall victory of the Battle of the Alamo is the Mexicans. The outcome of the Alamo was that the Texans wanted to be independent. This photo placed below is showing the Battle of the Alamo, more specifically canons being fired and guns being shot.

    The Indians land was trying to be used by white settlers to grow cotton on. Then shortly after that happened the federal government decided to forced the Native Americans to leave their homes and walk thousands of miles across the Mississippi River.     Joseph Smith (Relation with the Mormons)
    Joseph Smith was born December 23,1805 and had been born into part of a Mormon family and he later died in June of the 27 in 1844. Joseph Smith published the Book of Mormon in 1830. He was also sentenced to jail for four months. Joseph Smith has been to many places/ states including the following: Missouri, Nauvoo, and in Ohio and even Illinois.     The Manifest Destiny took place in August of 1845. The Manifest Destiny was the idea that Americans were destined, by God, to govern the North American continent. This idea, with all the accompanying transformations of landscape, culture, and religious belief it implied, had deep roots in American culture.     During Donner Party
    During the winter of 1846 and 1847 in Sierra Nevada sat a group of American pioneers known as the Donner Party. This group was led by George Donner and James F. Reed. During the rough times this group of nearly ninety people turned to many different techniques of survival including cannibalism. Due to the rough conditions, and choice for survival only half actually made it to California. This lead to the Donner Party being known all around the world in history. In the photo below is a map

    Mexican War
    In the year 1846 a war broke out between American and Mexico known as the American Intervention or American- Mexican war. One of the biggest causes of this war outbreak was the desire of America to expand Westward. This war was a huge historic event because it was the first ever war fought on foreign ground.     Gold Rush
    The California Gold Rush began on January 24, of 1848 and ended in 1857. During this time James W. Marshall found gold on his property at Sutter's Mill in Coloma, which drew in 300,000 people to California. Metal was extracted from the place where the Gold rush happened, as a total added up to $2 billion, which peaked in 1852.
