    Land acquired during Thomas Jefferson's presidency from France. We purchased millions of acres of land from France, basically doubling the size of our country. From the purchase, 15 states were directly created.

    The treaty granted the U.S.Florida and settled the quarrels over Texas. The treaty set up clear borders between Texas and New Spain (which is now Mexico).

    The Indian Removal Act was passed in 1830 and was the forced removal of Indians from their land to the west. It began in the deep south which modeled all other Indian removals. The Act caused the death of many of the Native Americans moved.
