Andragogy refers to methods and principles used in adult education. 1925 Rosenstock-Huessy Rosenstock-Huessy posed andragogy as the only method for the German people to regenerate themselves and their country post-war. 1926 Eduard C. Lindeman Eduard Lindeman wrote the book: The Meaning of Adult Education. It set out the central principles of adult education and provided a powerful vision of possibility. 1936 Jean Piaget Piaget was the first psychologist to make a systematic study of cognitive development. 1948 Burrhus Frederic Skinner B.F. Skinner conducted experiments using animals which he placed in a 'Skinner Box' which was similar to Thorndike’s puzzle box. Skinner believed that the best way to understand behavior is to look at the causes of an action and its consequences.
