  • Beginning of the first industrial revolution

    The population grew for Britain during the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution was the beginning of the agricultural revolution, steam engines, roads, trains, and iron industry formation. The industrial labour attracted people to the town and later improved agricultural advancement, attraction to the industry, advancement in medical science and the rising of the middle class.
  • First British settlement in Adventure Bay

    Captain Tobias Furneaux, in 1773 after his ship, the HMS adventure. The significant of Adventure Bay that is excellent harbor for resupplying vessels, with fresh water and food. And by the 19th century adventure bay became a place for whaling and a timber industry. With early explores there were evidence of Aboriginal settlement, which highlight the significant to the local indigenous people.
  • The end of the Napoleonic war

    The war lasted from 1803 to 1815, following the French revolutionary war. Napoleon Bonaparte was a dominant military and a political leader, establishing the French empire. The wars lead to the European borders and the spread of the Napoleonic reforms. This ended with the defeat of Napoleonic reforms.
  • The end of the age of revolution

    The age of revolution " spread the ideas of liberty, equality and fraternity and generated the spirit of nationalism. (historydiscussion,n.d) After Napoleon, the European tried to restore the monarchy and prevent future revolution.
  • Shootout at Stringybark Creek

    The shootout occurred at Stringybark creek on October the 26th, 1878. The police involved in the shootout were Sergeant Michael Kennedy, Constable Thomas Lonigan, Michael Scanlan, and Tomas Mclntrye, as they were searching for the gang at the time. The aim of the ambush was to disarm the officers and take their supplies. Lonigan, Scanlan and Kennedy were killed, with Mclntyre managed to escape and report murders. after the shootout they were considered outlaw and became wanted.
  • The Battle of Beersheba

    With the heavily fortified town of Beersheba, with the ottoman defensive line from Gaza. The Calvery charge of the 4th Light Horse Brigade, only armed with bayonets, they streamed across the Ottoman trenches. They captured Beersheba and secured the water supplies, which is the start to the eventual capture of Gaza and Jerusalem. The capture of the town and water was vital to the Light Horse Brigade and was manly for the supplies and strategic purposes of the later capture of Jerusalem and Gaza.
  • The beginning of the Boxer Rebellion

    The beginning of the Boxer Rebellion in 1899, was in North China lead by a secret society. They were known as the "boxers" due to their martial art skills. This was the beginning of violence to China. They embarked on an armed campaign to drive all foreigners out of China.
