NFC (Near Field Communication)
Near field communication is a technology designed to let devices within close proximity interact with each other. It was originally purposed to be used on Star Wars toys but merged into the realm of mobile devices. Although it was initially invented in 1983 by Charles Walton it wasn't until Sony and another company named NXP Semiconductors reimagined it throughout the 90's and was then reintroduced in 2002, but the 90's is where a majority of the work for this technology to become what it is. -
