First computer ever! It had no monitor. They would later develop a popular video display board that would plug directly into the Altair. -

Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak created the Apple 2 and it featured a color display. Focused mainly for gaming with floppy disk and game paddles. -

This was the birth of portable computing. The first laptop. Weighed 24.5 pounds and was an over night success. Soon they struggled with competition, and eventually compaq totally took them over. -

Charles Babbage
Considered a "father of the computer" Babbage is credited with inventing the first mechanical computer that eventually led to more complex designs. In 1991, a perfectly functioning difference engine was constructed from Babbage's original plans. Built to tolerances achievable in the 19th century, the success of the finished engine indicated that Babbage's machine would have worked. -
