Mahatma Karamchand Gandhi was born of Oct 2, 1869 in Porbandar near Bombay. -
Gandhi's Marriage
Gandhi married Kasturba Kapadia when he was only 13 years old. They were married until Kasturba died in February 22, 1944. -
Studying Abroad
When Gandhi was 19 years old he travelled to study law at University College in London. While he was there, he avoided eating meat and drinking alchohol. While studying he found the principle of non-violenece, "Civil Disobedience". -
Back To India
Gandhi travels back to his home of Bombay India, but could not find a job. Also his mother had died while he was in England. -
From India To Africa
Gandhi travels to Africa after he had went to India and found out his mother had passed. Gandhi is then the first "colored" lawyer to ever be in the supreme court under a year-long contract. -
The "Great March"
Gandhi begins the "Great March" in order to gain Indian rights in South Africa. At 6:30 a.m. the great march had had 2,037 men, 127 women, and 57 children of Charlestown. They walked 200 miles to get their salt. -
Gandhi Is Arrested
Gandhi was arrested in his ashram by the Birtish Government with charges of Inciting Violence at Chauri Chaura. Gandhi made the trial easy, due to a pledge of guilty. Gandhi then served six years of imprisonment. Gandhi was released two years after the trial instead of six. -
Kasturba Gandhi Dies At Age 74
Kasturba dies at age 74 and suffered form chronic bronchitis. Kasturba died due to two heart attacks in 1944. -

India raised their flag. The indipendence of India was made widely known by the Indian National Congress. -
Gandhi's Death
Whie in New Delhi, Nathuram Vinayuk Godse approaches Gandhi. Gandhi then blesses him, Godse proceeds to then shoot Gandhi for being too sympathetic to Muslims. Godse was wrong about his theory that killing Gandhi would lead to the elimination of the Muslims, instead, the sadness of Gandhi's death brought peace.
