    Luther posted his 95 theses to the church's door, which expressed his disapproval of the church selling indulgeneces as well as the Papacy's abuse of power.

    The Diet of Worms

    After being excommuinicated by Pope Leo X, Charles V issues the Edict of worms which declares Luther as a criminal and bans all of his writings.
  • Aug 13, 1526

    Diet of Speyer

    Suspeneded the Edict of Worms. Declared that every state shall live, rule, and believe as it may hope and trust to answer before God and his Imperial majesty.
