Navigation Acts
The navigation acts directed the trade between England and the colonies. Also prevented the coloines from sending certain goods.The colonies first accepted the trade laws because they were guarnned a place to sell their raw materials. -
Proclamation of 1763
The proclamtion of 1763 was to prevent more fighting, britian called a halt to the settelers westward expansion. The proclamtion was esipaclly angered those who owned shares in land compaines. -
Sugar Act
They believed the british actions violated or interfered with, their rights as english citizens. Writs of assiatance violated their rights to be secure in their homes. The sugar act and new laws conrolled smuggling angred the colonists. -
Stamp Act
A law placed on taxes on almost all printed materials including newspaper, wills, and playing cards. All printed material had to have a stamp. British officials appiled the stamp after the tax was paid. -
Declaratory Acts
The lawed stated the paliment had the right tax and make decions of the british coloines "in all cases". The daughters of Libertry was created, the coloinsts were angred over any of the taxes. Sons of Liberty was another boycott. -
Townshed Acts
Paliment passed a set of laws that came to be known as the townshed acts. British leaders knew the stamp act that the colonies would resist internal taxes- those paid inside the colonies. They would import good such as glass, tea, and paper. -
Tea Act
To save the company, Parilement passed the tea act. This law allowed the company a virtual monopoly, or sole control, of the trade for tea in america. Colonial merchants called for a new boycott. Colonists vowed to stop the East Indian Companys Ships from unloading. -
Quebc Acts
This law set up a goverment for Quebec. It also gave quebec the area west of the Appalachian and north of the Ohio River. The coloinsts expressed their feelings in their name of new laws- the intolerable acts. -
Coercive Acts
Intended to punish the people of massachusetts for their resistence for the british laws. The colonists held that the coercive acts violated their rights as english citizens.
