    France's Army is Expanded

    One of King Louis's first rulings and decisions when he became king were to improve and expand France military. At the time, the military was sparse and not as strong as it could have been so he took it upon himself to greatly increase the number of people in the French army up to 350,000 people by the end of his rule when he died in 1715.

    In 1670 King Louis decided to reform criminal law and later in 1667 civil law. Some of his biggest decisions as king of France were to modernize or try to improve the backwards and old laws of and in France.
