Jack passes like a shadow under the darkness of the tree and crouched -

Jack raised his head and started at the inscrutable masses of creeper that lay across the trail and raised his spear and sneaked foward. -
Pig Run Hunting (49)
Jack swung back his right arm... he rushed out of the undergrowth and snatched up his spear Jack stood there he turned off the trail and pushed his way through the forest until the forest opened a little and was back to the beach. -
Shelter (50)
Ralph turned to the shelter and lifited a branch ... he flung himself down at Jack's feet -
Meeting between Ralph, Jack
Jack leaped to his feet and took a few rapid steps toward the beach , then came back. -
Talk about Rescue (53)
Ralph and Jack trotted down the beach and turned at the water's edge looking back at the pink mountain. -
Walking around (54-55)
Ralph and Jack return to the shelters... leave shelters and go toward the bathing pool
Meanwhile Simon had followed them for a few yards and then had stopped on the beach and then turned back and walked to the forest -
Walk through Jungle (56-57)
Simon picked his way up the scar passed the great rock and then turn off his right among the trees.... Simon paused looked over his shoulder to confirm he was alone and wormed his way into the center of the mat and squatted down -
Chapter Four :Painted Faces and long Hair (58-60)
The littlus boys built castles in the sand at the bar of the little river when Roger and Maurice come out of the forest and roger leading the way kicking castles and burying the flowers -
Beach Sand (61)
Henry wandered off along the beach Roger followed him....
Johnny sat near the castle crooning to himself and throwing sand -
Diving (61-62)
Ralph and Simon and Piggy and Maurice divive in the pool ...Henry wandered off -

Twins moved toward Jack to see what he is doing with the clay -

Ralph climbes out of water and trottes near the palm, Simon if floating, Piggy is mooning then goes to sit next to Ralph

Ralph went to Piggy and took his glasses and soon some of the boys were rushing down the slope -

ralph and simon picked him up unhandily and carried him to a shelter and 3 boys lay restlessly and noisily among the dry leaves -

eric and sam dared the few yards to the next shelter and spread the news and ralph stood up and walked to the platform followed by piggy and simon plus other boys -

ralph and the biguns set out along the beach and then under ralph’s direction, they picked up a careful way along the palm terrace -

jack and roger came to the last slope then both turned the shoulder of the mountain together -
Ch 8 Gift for the Darkness (124)
Simon came stealing out of the shadows by the shelters. -
Drifting toward Jack (130)
The littluns stopped singing and dancing and driffted away toward the sea or the fruit trees or the shelters -
Ralph noticing (131)
Ralp jumped up, ran swiftly round the fire and stood noticing Bill and Roger and others left toward the forest to find Jack -

Palph and Piggy went to the platform -

Jack decided to blunder out of the triangle toward the drop to the white sand and ran along the beach and dived into the forest. -

Jack turned and trotted away and after a moment the others followed him obediently into the forest. -

Jack and his group except Simon all at once were running away, as fast as they could through the forest toward the open beach. -

Maurice and Robert of Jack's group rushed at the fire and grabbed half- burnt branches and raced away along the beach. -

Jack and the group of boys follow the sow through the forest. -
Ch 9 A View to a Death (145)
Simon lay in the mat of creepers then turned over drew his feet under him and turned away from the open space and crawl through the creepers into the forest. -
The Body (146-147)
Simon makes his way to the mountain and moves toward the body and then started down the mountain and his legs gave beneath. -
Party (148-149)
Samnerics and Bill go into the forest to Jack's party and later Raplh and Piggy decide to join the party to. -
Jack's orders (150)
Jack rose fromt the log that was his throne and sauntered to the edge of the grass -
The Storm (151)
The littluns began to run about screaming when it started to rain and Jack leapt on to the sand running and stumbling through the thick sand to the open space of rock beyond the fire. -
Seeing the Beast (153)
After seeing the beast and going after it the boys rushed screaming into the darkness of the forest. -

Simon's dead body moved toward the open sea. -

samneric came dragging a great log out of the forest and dumped it by the fire and turned toward the pool -

the three boys go into the forest to fetch armfuls of rotten wood and fruit -

ralph led the way to the first shelter -

roger came to the neck of the land that joined the castle rock to the mainland and clambered up the ladder like cliff and Roger climbed down the back of the rocks toward the ave and the rest of the tribe -
Ch 10 The Shell and the Glasses (155)
ralph climbed on the platform when found out no biguns were in his tribe and sat down in the grass facing the chief’s seat and the conch -
Stealing (167)
someone tipped over ralph and piggy’s corner in the shelter and what seemed like dozen others were rolling over and over, hitting, biting, scratching -
No Perspective (167-168)
samneric and ralph hauled piggy clear of the wreckage and leaned him against a tree and then ralph trotted down the pale beach and jumped on to the platform to check the conch was still there -
Satisfied (168)
jack the chief led the way dangling Piggy’s broken glasses leading the way for two figures while trotting toward the castle rock -
Ch 11 Castle Rock (169)
Ralph and what is left of his tribe go toward the platform to call an assembly -
Before assembely (172-173)
Ralph and the others made their way to the devastated fruit trees before going to Jack’s place and then they set off along the beach in formation Ralph leading the way -
Last nigths dance (174)
they passed the place where the tribe had danced and ended at the castle rock
were Ralph led the way through the screen of grass on to the little open space that led to the narrow neck followed by two others and the piggy -
Jack's place (175-176)
Jack’s savages appeared edging round the ledge toward the neck and the twins made a bolt past Ralph and got between him and the entry -
The start of fighting (177)
Jack made a rush and stabbed at Ralph’s chest with his spear and their Positions reversed, Jack toward the castle and Ralph on the outside toward the island -
Charging toward each other (179)
Ralph charged toward Jack, Jack knowing this was the crisis, charged too and started to fight while piggy was standing in the dust of the fight calling the others -
Falling Rock (180)
Roger, with a sense of delirious abandonment, leaned all his weight on the lever and let dropped the rock strucking Piggy from chin to knee -
Piggy's death (180)
Piggy traveled through the air sideways from the rock and Piggy fell forty feet and landed on his back across the square red rock in the sea where his head opened and where the water boiled white and pink over the rock; and when it went, sucking back again, the body of Piggy was gone and Ralph turns and runs and is hidden by the forest -
Ch 12 Cry of the Hunters (183)
Ralph wormed out of the ferns and sneaked forward to the edge of that impenetrable thicket that fronted the neck of land seeing Robert sitting on guard at the top of the cliff -
Finding shelter (184-185)
Ralph came to the smashed acres of fruit and after eating went toward the beach and the platform, then turned and limped away through the forest toward Jack’s end of the island -
Dancing (186)
The tribe was dancing somewhere on the other side of the rocky wall and the savages were clambering up the Castle Rock -
Hunting Ralph (190-192)
Ralph lowered himself down to the rock and then pulled himself between the ferns, tunneling in and Jack’s tribe go hunting for Ralph -
Attacking Back (194-195)
Ralph was shot into the air, thrown down, dashed against branches later on Ralph launched himself like a cat, stabbed, snarling and then Ralph was running and came to a pig- run, followed it for perhaps a hundred yards and flung himself in a bush -
Savages (198)
the savage stopped fifteen yards away and uttered his cry and five yards away the savage stopped again, standing right by the thicket -
Comin Back (185)
Ralph came again to the thicket in front of the Castle Rock -
Finding hideout (187)
Ralph edged forward, feeling his way over the uneven surface as though he were blind and set his teeth and started to climb finding the holds by touch trying to talk to his capture tribe -
New Hideout (196-197)
Ralph leaping up, he dashed away toward the ocean side and the thick jungle till he was hung up among creepers and then immediately he was away again, running fast among thorns and brambles from the hunters and the fire -
Meeting the Officer (200)
Ralph rushes thru the forest toward the open beach and rolling over and over on the sand and Ralph turned half- pace with the officer seeing a semicircle of little boys -
Leaving (202)
The officer turned away to give them time to pull themselves together -
Runing for Safety (199)
Ralph shot forward, burst the thicket and swung the stake and the savage tumbled over and ran while the others followed crying out madley
