Plane crash
A group of British boys crashed on a island. They still wear uniforms and walk in a straight lines, they are civil boys. This is before they become savages, they start out very oragainze and civil. Page 19 “ Their bodies from throat to ankle were hidden by black cloaks which bone a long silver cross on the last breast and each neck was finished off with a hambone frill.” -

The Hunts Begins
Jack in charge of a group of hunters and they begin to search for food. They been eating just fruits. Jack discovers that there pigs up in the mountains but he misses his first chance to kill a pig because he hesitates but he promises that next time he will kill one. Page 32-33 "All the same you need an army- for hunting. Hunting pigs" "It broke away- before I could kill it" -
Split Divison.
Ralph wants to make shelters but Jack and his hunters go hunting and no help is given to Ralph. Ralph becomes frustration and leads to a war between Ralph's group and the hunters. page 51 " We want meat" , "well, we havent got any yet, And we want shelters. Besides the rest of your hunters came back hours ago, they're been swimming" -
Kill a Pig
Jack starts to become obsess with hunting. Ralph gets angry that no one is helping or taking responsibilities for there Jobs. Ralph and Jack argue and realize there just two different people. There differences make the clash. page 70 “I was chief, and you were going to do what i said. I talk. But you cant even build huts- then you go off hunting and let out the fire.” -
Meeting
Ralph becomes more frustrated and calls a meeting. He wants to build shelters. He wants to keep the island clean, the water and the fire to keep going. The boys are not giving him any help only simon. The faults mostly goes on Jack. Ralph tries setting rules but none of the boys want rules. And the boys get scared of the beast from the water Page 79 " everybody enjoys speaking and being together. We decide things. But they dont get done." -
Beast from the Air
Sam and Eric are watching the fire. Eric spots an image in the forest. They think its a beast from the air but it was a dead solider. He told the other boys, and they all got frightened and wanted to go hunt the beast. Jack tries to convince the boys that they don’t need the conch. The Conch is a symbol of power and authority. pg107" we dont need the conch anymore. We know we ought to say things. its time some people knew they've got to keep quiet and leave desciding things to the rest of us. -
The Game.
A boy name roger talks about Ralph and how he strike a pig but didnt kill him. Ralph gets mad and attacks Roger. The boys than play a game, using Robert as the “pig”. They stab him with their spears. page 114 "All at once , Robert was screaming and struggling with the strength of frenzy. Jack had him by the hair and was brandishing his knife" -
Chaos
Another meeting is called to talk about a beast from the sea. Some of the boys try to hunt for it. Others were mush afraid. The boys fight over the conch and who gets to speak. Tension between Ralph and Jack grow stronger. Jack accuses Ralph of being a bad chief. pg126 "Hes not a hunter. Hed never have got us meat, he isnt a perfect and we dont know anything about him. He just gives orders and expects people to obey for nothing" -
Death Of Simon
A feast is held by jack’s group, and Ralph groups joins them. The boys were doing their pig killing dance when Simon crawled out of the forest and the boys mistaken him as the beast. They violently attack and kill him. " The sticks fell and the mouth of the new circle crunched and screamed. The beast was on its knees in the center, its arm folded over its face. Its was crying out against the abominable noise something about a body on the hill" -
Jack groups of Thieves
The groups are split. Ralph’s group and Jack’s group. When Ralph and the boys from his group are sleeping, Jack has some of his boys go over and still some fire. They then snuck over and beat them up, taking Piggy’s glasses. The glasses are a symbol of reason/ The glasses creates the fire. "He began to pound the mouth below him, using his clentch fist as a hammer" -
Death of Piggy
The boys start to get annoyed with Piggy. Roger couldnt handle Piggy anymore so he pushed a great rock which knocks Piggy over the mountain. The conch is crushed and Piggy dies. pg 152" The rock struck piggy a glancing blow from chin to knee; the conch exploded into a thousand white fragments and ceased to exist." "piggies arms and legs twitched a bit , like pigs after its been killed." -
One man left
Ralph becomes an outcast. Everyone joined Jacks tribe. Jack wants to hunt for Ralph. The boys become full Savages because they no longer care on whom they kill. "Within seconds he was worming his way into the thicket; but not before he had glimpsed the legs of a savage coming toward him"
