  • 3

    Mountain-top Fire

When the three that went on an adventure come back, Ralph calls a meeting to tell everybody what they saw. After discusses, Ralph determines that they need to be rescued. He comes up with the idea of having a smoke signal so ships on the sea can see that there is people on the island that need to be rescued. Ralph suggests that there should be a fire on the mountain-top, to which everybody starts running to there, cheering "fire" and not listening to what Ralph says next.
  • 4

    Forest Fire

After creating a fire on the top of the mountain, they add branches that were green, most likely just branches with a lot of leaves. This was to make the fire produce more smoke. However, this made the fire larger, too large in fact, it spread into the forest quite a ways before the fire put itself out. One of the young boys wasn't with them on the mountain top and was never seen again after this event.

    Shelters and an Arguement

A few days had passed, shelters were starting to get built, however, hardly anybody was helping. Jack came out of the forest and met Ralph who was building up one of the Shelters. They then argued. Ralph thought it was important that the shelters get done for when it rains and fire on the mountain in case a ship comes along. Jack wanted to hunt, with his hunters (previously choir members), half of which were supposed to be keeping up the fire for a signal.
  • 6

    Ship

Everybody was doing their own thing, when somebody on the beach spotted a ship far out in the distance on the ocean. Ralph then spotted after this person started shouting about it. Ralph then wondered what was happening about the smoke signal because it wasn't big enough to be seen. He then rushed up into the mountain and told the people up there that there was a ship. Jack then came from his hunting trip and argued with Ralph some more. By the time they were done the ship was gone.

    Another Meeting

After Jack and Ralph's argument, Ralph decided to call a meeting, which would be in the evening. At this meeting he explained that there needed to be more order, and that the place should be a bit cleaner. But the most important thing was that the fire needed to be going at all times for a smoke signal, or else they would never be rescued.

    Mention of a Beast

Another part of the meeting that Ralph had just held, was that one of the young boys had seen something terrifying. A beast of some kind. He didn't know what it was though. The older boys weren't convinced that there was a beast on the island, so they talked about possible things that could be a beast.

At the meeting Ralph, Jack, Jack's hunters, and some others decide to go and explore the other side of the island to see if they can find this beast and take it down. They come to an area that is very rocky, the color of the rocks is red. There is also a cliff. They do something climbing and adventuring and spot a sort of cave, but don't go farther. Ralph says that they should go back because the fire isn't going, and there could be a ship out on sea. Even though Jack doesn't want to at first.

The beast was in the center of the circle, then ran out, over the rocks, and collapsed on the shore. The tide than took the body, of Simon.
  • 22

    The Ones Left

Ralph, Sam, Eric, Piggy and the young kids are the only ones left of their group. They talk about the feast last night and how it was spooky and they would have rather not have been there. It was something that they didn't want to have experienced, so they just say that it was an accident.

  • 25

    Fight

What Ralph and the others heard outside of their shelters came inside of them. It was Jack and some of his savages (or what members of his tribe were called), they had come for fire, but there wasn't one lit. So he just went in and fought Ralph and the others. Ralph gets mad at this and charges at Jack. They fight for a bit before Piggy interrupts trying to stop them. Piggy then gets into the fight, and gets killed. Ralph fights Jack, gets injured and decides to run. With Sam and Eric now part of the tribe.

Jack and his savages tried to get him to come out, but Ralph didn't, and when one savage stuck their spear through the thicket, Ralph dodged. He then stuck his spear out and hit somebody with it. After the savages tried more, he crawled to a different area, but the savages kept track of him.
  • 31

    A Very Large Fire

While Ralph was in a new spot in the thicket, a savage started a fire and lit the forest, to get him to come out. Ralph realized what was happening and started to run. The tribe chased him through the burning forest. Ralph kept trying to decide if it was better to run or break their line, to hide or climb a tree. He found another thicket to hide in, however a savage spotted him, and he just kept running, towards where his camp had been, he saw one of the shelter go up in flames.

The officer asked if there were any dead, Ralph said 2, and that they were gone. The savages had come into view. The officer asked if there were any grownups, Ralph said no. Finally the officer found out they were all British boys. Then they were saved.
