Golding's Begingings
Born on September 9th, 1911 in Cornwall, England. His mom, named Mildred, was an activist who fought for women’s right to vote. His dad Alex, worked as a principal. -

Education
He attended his fathers school for primary. Went to Brasenose Collage in Oxford for a degree in English. His father wanted him to study sciences but he chose to become a teacher/writer. -
Teaching
He decides to start teaching English and philosophy at Bishop Wordsworth’s School in Salisbury. He has Lod of the Files modeled after the school boys. Also wrote his first published work. -
Marriage and Children
Ann Brookfield was his wife married in 1939 and had two children, David and Judith. -
World War II
Golding left his teaching carer to join the Royal Navy and fight in World War II. He was in the Royal Navy and learned how violent war was. Also become in love with the ocean. -
Lord of the Flies
Golding published his first real novel, Lord of the Flies. The book explored human nature and was widely loved. Most of the book is based off his own experiences. -
Awards and Achievements
He got the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1983. In 1988 he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. -
Death
1993, Golding died of a heart attack in Perranarworthal, Cornwall.
