Miles leaves for boarding school in search of The Great Perhaps. He is going to attened Culver Creek Preparatory School in Alabama, the same school his father and grandfather went to. -

128 Days Before
In the dorm room, Miles meets his roomate, Chip Martin. The boys get to know eachother, and shortyly after, Chip introduces him to Alaska Young.This marks the beginning of their friendship and sets the novel up for future events. -
127 Days Before
Miles is taken from his room, his arms taped to his sides, brought to the lake and was thrown in by "Weekday Warriors". Pudge nearly drowns, but did not panic. The group of three then say, "This is for the Colonel (Chip). You shouldn't hang out with that asshole." -
110 Days Before
While Pudge, Alaska, Chip and Takumi were hanging out out by the lake, Pudge asked Alaska why she smokes so fast. Alaska replies with,"Ya'll smoke to enjot it, I smoke to die." This shows that Alaska does not fear death, and may also be telling us that she has suicidal thoughts. -
One hundred ten days before
Pudge is sitting in class staring out the window. Dr. Hyde yells at him and kicks im out of class. Alaska then stands up for him and she too was thrown out of class. -
87 Days Before
Pudge, Lara, Alaska, Jake, Colonel, Sara, and Takumi all attend an on camous basketball game and called it a Triple-Date-And-A-Half.Pudge got hit the face with the basketball and threw up on his date Laura. -
52 Days Before
Everyone left for Thanksgiving except for Pudge and Alaska. This gave them time to bond and get to know eachother alone. After a few days, the Colenol and his mother returned and offered them to have Thanksgiving together at their house. -
51 Days Before
Alaska and Pudge decide to take revenge on the weekday warriors by switching all their hair products to blue hair dye. -
3 Days Bfore
Takumi, Pudge, Alaska, Lara, and the Colonel all took part in a "Pre-prank". Miles and Takumi set off fireworks to distract the eagle while Alaska sends out fake progress reports to the weekday warriors' parents. -
2 Days Before
While drunk in the barn, Alaska invents a game called best day/worst day. They all partcipate and Alaska shares the day her mothe died from an aneurysm as her worst day. -
2 Days Before
Pudge and Laura shared their first kiss while they were in the barn. This tells us that Pudge is now trying to move on from Alaska. -
1 Day Before
Alaska says tp Pudge, "what you must understand about me is that I am a deeply unhappy person."
This again tells us that Alaska may have suicidal thoughts. She says she is deeply unhappy and may feel she has nothing to live for. This makes us wonder if her death was truly an accident or a suicde. -
The Last Day
Alaska, Miles and Chip are drinking in Alaska's room. Alaska dares Pudge to hook up with her. Miles of course goes for it, but Alaska gets tired and says "To be continued." This gets Pudge excited even though he is with Laura and Alaska already has a boyfreind. -
The Last Day
Alaska Later comes back to their room later crying and yelling "I forgot! God, how many times can I fuck up?". She asks Miles and the Colonel to distract the eagle while she drove off campus. Pudge and the Colonel knew she had been drinking, but let her drive anyway. This was the last time they ever saw Alaska Young. -
The Day After
This is the day, Dr Hyde announces to the school that Alaska has died. She was in a car accident the night she ran out upset over a phone call. Pudge is devastated, confused, angry, and balmes himself for letting her drive drunk. -
7 Days After
The eagle asks Chip and Miles to clean out anything Alaska's aunt wouldn't want to see in her dorm room. The boys find Alaska's favourite book 'The general and his Labyrinth', next to the line 'how will i ever get out of this labyrinth?' Alaska had written "straight and fast". This may have ben anotehr sign that her death was a suicide. -
102 Days After
The group planed and carried out a prank that Alaska had come up with before she died. The prank involved a stripper. They wanted to have a little fun and deticate this prank to Alaska. -
136 Days After
Pudge finds a note from Takumi after he leaves the creek saying he knew why Alaska left all along. The note said she forgot the anniversary of her mom's death. It was still unknown whether her death was a suicide, however Pudge knew he had to, and managed to move on an find peace regardless of what had happened to Alaska Young that night.
