Birth - 3 yrs Old
I remember when I was really young, my mother had a nursery rhyme book that consisted of basic songs you would sing to children but all the characters in the book were based off of Winnie the Pooh. -
Preschool and Kindergarten
In my early education years, I remember whenever it was time to learn a new color and how to spell, say, and recognize the color my teachers would create songs that had to do with that color. The song for the color red had things about apples, firetrucks, and lady bugs in it! -
Bedtime Stories
When I was just learning how to read, I remember every night I would go into my sister's room and my mom would make us take turns reading pages out of our set of Barbie books (because those were our favorite!) -
Library Visits
When I was in elementary school, my mom would take me and my sibilings to the library and let us pick out a book of whatever we would like. We would go to the library about once week all through out our elementary ages. -
Multiplication Table
When I was in fourth and fifth grade, my parents would have me sit down every night and practice my multiplication tables. I would do one number every night to start and then eventually it became progressively more challenging but I was able to master them slowly which is why I think I prefer math so much as I got older. -
Dear Dumb Diaries
In middle school, my favorite books to read was the Dear Dumb Diary books and I would check them out from the school library at least once a week! -
Reading Counts
In high school, I did not like reading as much as I did in middle school so the only time that I would actually ever read was when I was forced to read for a program we called "Reading Counts" at my high school. Each book was assigned a certain point and you had to reach a certain amount of points every semester depending on your grade level. -
College Level Reading
The only reading I did in my first year of college was documentary or textbook reading that I was also assigned for class. I found that I did little reading for my own enjoyment.
