Learning to Talk
When I was about a year old, I began to talk. My mom taught me Spanish and English at the same time. She would say it in one language first and repeat it in the second language. I would respond in both Spanish and English. My mom did not do the same with my younger sisters which has resulted in their broken Spanish and strong English. -
Britney Spears
When I was three years old, my cousin bought me Britney Spear's album ...Baby One More Time on cassette. I remember being in my mom's room listening to the album and dancing in front of her closet mirror. I would pretend I was making a music video and would act out the lyrics in the songs.

Rollerskating
When I was four years old, my aunt taught me how to roller-skate. This skill helped me get my first job when I was sixteen. I got a job at Sonic as a skating carhop. -
Kindergarten
I remember being in kindergarten and having to do one page of homework everyday. The homework was mainly cutting out pictures of things and pasting them with the correct word under them. I remember doing the homework with my mom and her checking it. Then when she would walk away I would cut up the whole page into strips. My teacher would receive much of my homework in ziplock bags. -
James Patterson
I loved reading from a very young age so my dad always brought me books from work. The covers of the books were ripped off so he never knew what they were about. Most of the books were James Patterson books. They were books about murder and mystery. Needless to say reading adult books helped me increase my reading level. As a freshman in High School, I was reading at a Junior in college level.

Sixth Grade Language Arts
When I was in sixth grade I remember learning about run on sentences and practicing rewriting them. Even now as a college student I still struggle with run on sentences. Throughout my entire school career, the frequent note from all of my teachers' is my run on sentences. -
Spanish Class
As a junior in high school I had to take a Spanish class. Due to my honors and AP classes I only had room to take a non-speaking course. The only two things I took away from this class was how to write with accents and how difficult it is to learn Spanish when you are older. The constant changes in verbs according to the noun is enough to give people a hard time. -
AP Literature
My senior year of high school I took AP Lit. At least three times a week we would have to answer an essay prompt in class. Usually we would discuss and evaluate the prompt first and then the last 45 minutes of class we would write the essay. We only had those 45 minutes to complete it.
