    The Learning Process
I went to kindergarten and I felt like I was one of the more intelligent kids in the class. I also went to a separate class outside of school for literary purposes. My parents wanted me to be a better reader and when I tried reading for the first time I started to cry. I could not read a single word and everyone else was able to do it so easily. I started to lose my confidence in myself and the teachers would always try to calm me down. Most of the time it worked but I still was overwhelmed.
  • The First Step

    The First Step
When I went to the literary class outside of school it was hard. I could not comprehend what I was looking at. I had already learned the alphabet but I did not think it had to do anything with reading. When the teachers tried to help me they had to slowly pronounce the words so I could see how each letter would sound like in a word. I slowly started to get to read a couple of words and I was able to impress some of my teachers. I still had to work on my vocabulary to be able to read sentences.
  • The First Writing Experience

    The First Writing Experience
After I learned how to read, I needed to learn how to write. I took a whole year of a reading class and I had seen that I was making great progress. I went to the first grade and we had to do writing worksheets. We also had to trace the words that were written on a packet. I thought it was so easy that I felt like I was in the wrong class. I felt like I should have made a huge leap in the learning process. Whenever I went to the library reading was one of the only things that I loved.
  • Journal Writing

    Journal Writing
I think when it came down to writing I was one of the best at it. When my teachers in my elementary school gave me a paper to write on, the thoughts in my head were written on the paper easily. Although my vocabulary was very limited, my experience with writing with complex words for my age came easy. At that time there was a reading competition for a kindle fire. All the reading that I had done was documented on a paper and it was dated. One ticket went into the raffle every time I read.
  • My First Essay

    My First Essay
The first essay that I had ever done was when I was in fifth grade. It was hand written because I had no experience with a computer before. The first essay that I have ever done was about the planet Mars. It was three pages long and it was the longest essay in the class. My teacher was shocked that I had written so much. I had done my research on Mars very neatly and it was easy to write down the facts on paper. My sister did help my on it so I could not take full credit. I was proud of myself.
  • Partner Writing

    Partner Writing
When I was in 6th grade I had to do an essay about the ancient Egyptians. I had to write about the culture and the pyramids that they had built. It was a partner essay because the partner that I had did most of the research and I wrote down most of the facts. We got a perfect grade because we reviewed the essay many times. We made sure that each word was spelled correctly. Many people wanted to be my partner because they knew that I was good at writing. I was able to choose my partner often.
  • Essay Fail

     Essay Fail
Throughout most of my life I had thought that I was one of the best writers in my grade. When I got to receive my grades they were always perfect. In my first year of high school I had an essay in MLA format. I was in online learning during the time and I had no idea that I could not use personal pronouns. I remember having so many personal pronouns and grammar mistakes that I had failed the essay. This happened to many other people so I did not feel alone. I learned from my mistakes since then.
  • Reading Habits

    Reading Habits
The first year of English in high school was easy after the fail because the books that we were reading were read in class. My 10th grade year had started and I was feeling confident to have a great start. I was assigned summer reading but I had not read the book with the intention of writing an essay on it. When I got to the essay I had no idea what to write. From that point onward I had my attention focused on the goal of being able to read and distill the true meaning of the any passage.
