Watching Transformers (2007) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
These movies had cool alien robots that turned in cars and made explosions. It gave me an interest in action-centered books. Cool must-watch Transformer scenes:

  • Making my own stories

    Making my own stories
I made my own stories by folding many pieces of paper in half, stapling them together, make illustrations, and write the short story. Mainly consisting of crayon drawings depicting giant robots taking over the world.
  • Typing short stories

    Typing short stories
I was introduced to Microsoft Word on the family computer, I typed and printed many short stories, with the help of Google images that complement the narrative. The type of short stories now transition into military/futuristic elements. Many of my elementary classmates liked the books for some reason.
  • The love for reading and writing lessens

The love for reading and writing lessens
Reading became a task for me. I have not read or written anything on my own for a while until high school.
  • Transition into freshman year of highschool

Transition into freshman year of highschool
My English class partially rekindled my passion to read and write (mostly write), with exposure to novels like Fahrenheit 451, Animal Farm, and All Quiet on the Western Front.
  • Continuing to make short stories

    Continuing to make short stories
With encouragement from my English teacher, and with inspiration from the novels I've read, I am finally making short stories again. These stories, however, are made with a more realistic and immersive approach with themes surrounding war. One of the stories I made:

  • Transition into Sophomore year

With my new English teacher, I have received additional support for my writing projects and short stories. The summer reading (The Scarlet Letter), despite being horrible and grueling to read through, it provided me the goal of making my writing seem more intricate, cryptic, with realism still in mind. The introduction to romanticism and its respective poems have also ignited the passion to write.
  • The Competition...

    The Competition...
After quitting the habit of scrapping many projects since freshman year, I've decided to build a story seriously this time and remain consistent throughout the year. I have shocked my teachers and partially myself, I have won FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS from the Thornton Wilder writing competition. The story was centered around Russian soldiers and the horrible reality of war. Story:
