Day I was Born
I am an identical twin and my sister and I were born two and half months early. When we were born we spend an hour in the Mason City hospital and then we were life flighted to Minneapolis, MN to a hospital there where we spend 10 days in the NICU. -
Came home from the hospital
Today was the day my sister and I were able to finally go home with my mom and day after spending so much time in the hospital. -
Began building our new house
For the first few years of our lives my sister and I grew up living in town. But in the late spring shortly after our 4th birthday we began the process of building a house out in the country right outside of town. This was fun for us because that meant we were going to be even closer to both sets of our grandparents. -
Moved into new house
We began moving into our new house right before my sister's and I's 5th birthday because I remember having our family over to celebrate Thanksgiving in our new house and to also celebrate our birthday since in fell so close to Thanksgiving. -
My little brother was born
I remember the day that my brother was born my dad pick my sister and I from school and went straight to hospital because my mom had, had my brother earlier that morning. I remember not believing how small he was and wanting to help take care of him right from the get go. -
Hospitalized for pneumonia
Either on or shortly after my 6th birthday I was diagnosed with pneumonia and was hospitalized for almost a week. Once a was released from the hospital I was not able to return to school once I was released from a doctor. I remember being out of school for almost 2 weeks and having an IV port in my hand when I came home because I was still receiving medicine through it several time a week. -
My dad was diagnosed with cancer
Right before my sixteen birthday I found out that my dad had been diagnosed with cancer and was going to need surgery and treatment. I can still remember having that conversation at the kitchen table and not being able to believe what I was hearing. -
My Grandpa Rayhons is diagnosed with cancer
Almost 2 year from my dad being diagnosed with cancer we found out that my grandpa had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He too would have to undergo treatment and then surgery and then possibly more treatment. -
My Grandpa Rayhons passes away
Even though my grandpa was battling cancer it was still a shock when he passed away because a lot of were not prepared for it because he was just a day away from coming home from the hospital after having his surgery. This had a big impact on my life since i know realized that my grandpa was not going to be there for any of major life events which at 18 years can sometime be hard to deal with. -
Graduated High school
This was big day for my sister and I because we knew that at the end of the summer we would be going our separate ways to different colleges, which when you have share a room your entire life and are a twin is very hard. -
Graduated from NIACC
NIACC is community school so when I was graduating I was graduating with a associates degree. I remember all of my family being there to support on my big day. -
My brother graduates High school
I remember it being so hard to believe that he was graduating high school already and soon going to be going to college. I faintly remember feeling kind of old when stepped into the gym for the commencement ceremony because it made me realize how many years I had been out of school. -
Graduated from Waldorf College
I graduated with a Bacholer's degree in Education with endorsements in Reading and Special Education. This was a huge thing for me because that meant I would soon be able to teach once I got my teaching license. -
My sister gets married
I remember feeling so many emotions that day because I knew that my relationship between my sister and I was going to change a little bit since she was going to be farther away and was going to be starting a new chapter in her life. -
I got engaged!
I remember everything about this day because it was also my anniversary with my fiance. I remember everything because I had no clue that he was going to propose at the end of the night. I remember being in shock when he ask me that it took a few seconds to register what he was doing. I think back on it know it makes me laugh as to how I reacted. -
My Grandma Schmidt passes away
Her passing was very unexpected and at times has been very hard to deal with since my wedding is soon and I always thought she was going to be there and now she isn't. -
Getting Married
Even though this event has not happened yet I felt it was important to add it since it is such a big event in my life.
