Pocahontas' tribe captured John Smith because there were hostilities between the Indians and the newcomers. She saved him by throwing herself in front of him.

Pocahontas visits Jamestown after she rescues John Smith. She became close with the colonist.During the winter time she would send food to the struggling colonist. She also stayed at their camps and entertain and play with the children.

Pocahontas is captured by Sir Samuel Argall. Her rank allowed her to be treated fairly and respectfully. This event resulted in peace which allowed them to trade peacefully. Pocahontas also became a Christian.
