A sad event, that would have changed history forever
King's grandmother died of a heart attack. This lead to Martin Luther King, 12 year boy, to attempt suicide by jumping from a two-story window. Imagine how different life would be if he died that day and didn't deliever his I have a dream speech or the boycott. -
The trip that started all of it
Martin Luther begins college at Morehouse at the age of 15 under a special wartime program for promising high school students. During the summer, before he began college he went to the north and saw how different blacks were treared there and was astonished. Which caused him to have a deeper hatred toward racial segregation. -
Success at Morehouse
He loved studying medicine and law, but his father wanted him to study ministry. He graduated from Morehouse in 1948. -
Marriage
Martin Luther King and Corelleta married a few years after they met in Boston while she was studying at the New England Conservatory of Music. Then soon enough they had four kids together. -
The Boycott Bgins
This event is significant because it was the day Rosa Parks resisted to give up her seat for a white man. This is also significant because some of the local activists formed the Montgomery Improvement Association to boycott the transit system and chose Martin Luther King as their leader. -
Violence is never the answer
This is the day Martin Luther King decided that nonviolence is the best weapon for oppressed people in their struggle for freedom. -

King and his family move to Atlanta and Martin Luther King became co-pastor with his father of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. -

This is the day when millions of people gathered to hear MLK's speech. He delivered in Washington D.C. This was during the March on Washington. -
Nobel Peace Prize
King recieves the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo. This was the same year the federal government enforced desegregation! -
A Tragic Event
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was shot and killed by a man named James Earl Ray. This lead to violent disturbances and riots in 100 cities across the world.
