I was asked to be on the leadership team at my church when I was in jr. high/ high school.

In high school a good friend of mine encouraged me to join the speech and debate team.

I applied for a few state schools as well as Bethel and decided on going to Bethel.

I was able to gain a few scholarships by joining the speech and debate team at Bethel.

I was originally going to get a degree and become an occupational therapist. However, I realized that working with students everyday was important to me so I changed my major to education.

This was one of the most impactful moments in my life. My cooperating teacher was the one that gave me the confidence to teach and helped me come into my own.

This helped to show me that my peers see me as a leader and someone they can trust.

I chose a Masters with an emphasis in educational leadership at Bethel.

Once I was tenured I started working on my PhD again.

I would like to continue to support and guide my colleagues so I may want to take a route that gives me more opportunity to work with training teachers.

I could see myself working as a professor and helping to teach new teachers so that they are prepared to go into the workforce.
